KO Tin Ko Min from the Maha Giri group said that there is a lot of interest in the trekking tour where people will have the opportunity to learn the essence of Mount Popa National Geopark, which is Myanmar’s first of its kind.

During the trip, people can study the summary of the geopark, which is displayed at the Mount Popa Education Gallery. There is also a small model of Mount Popa that is suitable for those who are unable to climb to the summit and students.

“Now, private schools have contacted us about the trip. We have arranged camps and barbecues for trips. We introduce the natural forest as GeoGuide, let them walk for two hours in the forest, learn about geology, and our natural guide explains plants, animals, and biodiversity. After studying at the deer farm at Geosite 7, we will visit and study the summary of Mount Popa Park opened by the Forest Department,” he said.

Currently, many people have shown interest in it and some private schools from Yangon, Mandalay and Pakokku have been contacted for this trip. On the trip, people can study the importance of the forest and trees, which collect rainwater from the plants in Mount Popa and provide essential support for other living creatures, and have a chance to pass through the traditional belief handed down from ancestors for thousands of years, see rare sandalwood trees and golden deer in the remote areas, and learn the summary of Mount Popa.

During the tour, a natural guide who explains about biodiversity and a local guide who cares for the children along the trip will accompany the visitors.
