ACCORDING to Vice-Chair U Aye Kyu Lay of the Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization (MMPO), three veteran scriptwriters — Shin Moe Htwe, Maung Seinn Nwe, and Tekkatho Ko Ko Naing — accepted donations, including cash contributions from their junior screenwriters, on 30 November.
Scriptwriters paid tributes to their senior counterparts by visiting their homes and presenting donations of K150,000 each, along with food and other essentials.
“This annual gesture is organized independently by scriptwriters to honour our seniors. This year, we visited their homes to pay homage. We honoured Sayagyi Maung Seinn Nwe, who is approaching 90 years old, Sayagyi Shin Moe Htwe, aged 83 and now in his fifth year as a monk, and Sayagyi Tekkatho Ko Ko Naing, who is over 80 years old. Each received K150,000 along with food and other offerings,” explained U Aye Kyu Lay.
