UNDER the arrangement of the Public Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), over 120 Myanmar EPS workers arrived in the Republic of Korea, said the Myanmar Embassy to the Republic of Korea on 25 June.

Among them, the arrival of 22 manufacturing workers and 61 construction workers was seen on 16 June and the arrival of 45 manufacturing workers was seen on 24 June.

The labour attaché from the embassy in Seoul welcomed them, advised them what they should follow and provided necessary assistance. Upon their arrival, Chargé d’Affaires/Ambassador U Myo Myint Maung greeted those workers via a video call.

He urged workers to take care of health and be aware of workplace safety and to respect existing laws of the two countries. He also told workers to contact the embassy if they have any difficulty, said the embassy.

In addition, 11 agriculture workers and three service workers arrived on 9 June, 99 manufacturing workers and five construction workers arrived on 10 June and a re-entry worker arrived on 11 June, according to the embassy. — MT/ZS
