Under the programme organized by the Ministry of Health, a medical team comprising senior specialists from Mandalay General Hospital and the 550-Bed Mandalay Children’s Hospital and Mandalay Children’s Hospital provided free medical treatment at Sao San Htun General Hospital in Taunggyi, Shan State (South) for two days, on 27 and 28 June, along with specialists from Sao San Htun General Hospital.
During this outreach, a total of 1,642 patients received treatment, including individuals from 11 townships in Shan and Kayah states. The medical conditions treated ranged from cardiac diseases, gastrointestinal issues, and neurological ailments to orthopaedic and dermatological problems, among others.
Additionally, medical check-ups included procedures such as Echocardiography, Oesophago-Gastro-Duodenoscopy (OGD) Scope, Colonoscopy, CT scans, X-ray examinations, laboratory tests, ultrasound scans, and electrocardiograms (ECG). Some patients requiring further treatment were referred to relevant hospitals.
Ministers of Shan State Government Col Sein Win and Daw Nang Kham Lu and other officials comforted the patients and provided locally produced gifts to the medical mission. — MNA/KZL
