A delegation from the Russian Navy, led by Rear-Admiral Andrey Nikolaevich, arrived in Yangon by air on the morning of 12 October to attend the First Myanmar-Russia Navy-to-Navy Talks. The delegation met with a delegation from the Myanmar Navy at Ayeyawady Naval Regional Command Headquarters for the talks.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed naval cooperation between the two countries, including training, information exchange, and the repair and maintenance of naval vessels.
A signing ceremony for the agreements reached during the talks was held at Ayeyawady Naval Regional Command Headquarters on the morning of 14 October. The two sides exchanged commemorative insignia and posed for a group photograph.
The Russian Navy delegation that attended the First Myanmar-Russia Navy-to-Navy Talks departed Yangon by air yesterday morning. Senior officers and officials from the Myanmar Navy saw off the delegation at Yangon International Airport, according to reports.
