MYANMAR exported more than 300 items of fishery products to over 40 countries in the first half of the 2026-2027 financial year (April-September), bagging over US$270 million, according to the Department of Fisheries.
“Myanmar conveyed over 160,000 tonnes of fishery products to more than 40 countries during the April-September period, generating more than US$270 million in export revenue,” said an official from the Department of Fisheries in Nay Pyi Taw.
Myanmar primarily exports fishery products to Japan, countries in the Middle East, European Union member countries, Malaysia, Taiwan Province of China, and Australia. Myanmar Fisheries Federation and the Department of Fisheries are working closely to boost exports.
The department and exporters are coordinating to meet the specific requirements of each buyer country, particularly for markets like China that enforce strict COVID-free certification for fishery products.
