A Myanmar public speaking competition for the youth will be held during the “Night of Ideas 2026” event, aiming to enable young people to express their perspectives within the cultural and creative sector, according to the Institut français de Birmanie (IFB). The competition will take place from 4 to 7 pm on Saturday, 10 October, at Lann Sone Art Space, IFB.
Anyone aged between 18 and 30 who can speak Myanmar is eligible to apply. The initiative aims to create an opportunity for youth to courageously express their ideas, inspire others, and participate in cultural and creative discussions. Applicants must complete the online application form via the provided QR code. Once contacted by the IFB Media Library, they will need to submit two self-recorded, two-minute short speaking videos filmed at home.
The 10 selected contestants will then compete on stage during the “Exchange of Ideas Panel Discussion” programme. A panel of four invited local and international judges will select the top three speakers, who will be awarded gift vouchers. The firstprize winner will receive K300,000 and advance to the final round in December, while the second and third-prize winners will receive K150,000 and K100,000, respectively.
