THE Myanmar Red Cross Society is distributing drinking water to flood-affected communities in Laymyethna Township, Ayeyawady Region, and will continue the relief operation, according to the society. Staff from the society’s Water and Environmental Sanitation Team under the Health Department, together with Red Cross volunteers from the Laymyethna Township Red Cross Branch, are distributing drinking water in Wards Nos 1, 2 and 3 and Sitgon Village, where it is urgently needed.
The team has also provided drinking water to the Basic Education Primary School in Sitgon Village. Further water distribution is underway in villages and urban wards across Laymyethna Township, where residents need access to safe drinking water.
