Vice-President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Nan Ni Ni Aye attended the reception to mark the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China at Wyndham Grand Hotel in Mingala Taungnyunt Township, Yangon, yesterday evening.
The Vice-President was welcomed by Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Ms Ma Jia, the Military Attaché and officials and the Vice-President visited the Myanmar-China friendship commemorative booths.
The ceremony was opened with the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the People’s Republic of China, and the Chinese Ambassador extended greetings.
In her speech , Vice-President Nan Ni Ni Aye said that Myanmar and China are good-neighbourly and friendly countries sharing a long common border. Throughout the years, the two countries have worked to further strengthen their close cooperation and partnership based on mutual respect, mutual understanding and genuine good-neighbourliness, in accordance with the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. The two countries are also nations that have consistently provided mutual assistance, support and solidarity whenever needed, based on the fraternal “Pauk-Phaw” friendship and close ties between Myanmar and China.
Furthermore, comprehensive cooperation in various sectors has been deepened, contributing to greater mutual understanding. Strategic comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, particularly cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, including the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, has also been further enhanced. In the coming years, she encourages further efforts to promote not only trade and investment between the two countries but also people-to-people connectivity in areas such as culture and education.
She said that Myanmar greatly value the continued support and assistance provided by the Government of China to Myanmar’s efforts for peace, stability and national development, as well as China’s positive support for Myanmar at regional and international forums, particularly within ASEAN and the United Nations. On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, she expressed that may the People’s Republic of China continue to achieve development, prosperity and well-being, and may the fraternal “PaukPhaw” friendship and close ties between Myanmar and China endure forever.
The Vice-President and the Chinese Ambassador cut the commemorative cake together and posed for documentary photos together with the attendees.
The Vice-President had dinner with the attendees. During the dinner, the fine arts troupe from Yunnan Province and embassy staff performed traditional dance and songs.
Also present at the reception were Amyotha Hluttaw Deputy Speaker Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Phone Myat and U Than Maung, the Yangon Region Hluttaw Speaker, senior Tatmadaw officers and the commander of the Yangon Command and their wives, chairs and officials of international relations committees from the Pyithu and Amyotha Hluttaws, ambassadors from the foreign embassies and military attachés in Yangon, and distinguished guests.
