RENOVATION work has been carried out on schools, departmental buildings and a hospital in Tiddim Township, including the Monastery Education School, Border Area Ethnic Youth Training School, Domestic Vocational Training School, staff housing for the Township Religious Affairs Office, a new 100- bed extension ward at the Township Hospital, staff housing for the Cooperative Department and the Township Election Commission Office.

Yesterday morning, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thant Zaw Lwin, Chin State Minister for Natural Resources U Win Zaw Oo and members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee inspected the work. The deputy minister and his delegation also received the Five Precepts from Sayadaw Ashin Pu ñña Nanda at the Theravada Buddhist Missionary Centre in Myoma Ward, offered Waso robes and discussed religious affairs.

They visited the Basic Education High School No 1, where they inspected industrial, agricultural and livestock-breeding studies. They also inspected the damaged Township Immigration and Population Department building and citizenship scrutiny card services at the temporary township office in Khwado Hall, where they handed cards to students.
