DEPUTY Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thant Zaw Lwin said that those wishing to undertake businesses in the now-stable Chin State can apply for government loans through the relevant departments, at the meeting with departmental officials, town elders and locals in Tonzang township on Monday.
The government is providing corrugated iron sheets, roofing nails and bags of cement to partially and completely damaged homes in Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang townships of Chin State as part of its rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts following incidents of violence.
During the meeting, the deputy minister and the State Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation provided roofing sheets, roofing nails and bags of cement for damaged homes in Tiddim.
Officials also briefed the meeting on regional development and rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts, while the deputy minister coordinated responses to the difficulties and needs raised by locals.
After the meeting, the deputy minister inspected the renovation of government office buildings damaged by terrorist attacks in Tonzang and instructed officials to ensure quality construction and completion within the designated timeframe. — MNA/KTZH
