The Government is cooperating with neighbouring and regional countries to eliminate online scams and online gambling, which threaten global socio-economic affairs and national security. As part of these efforts, illegal buildings in the Shwe Kokko area, where online scam and online gambling activities were extensively conducted, are being systematically demolished to prevent such activities from resuming.

In this regard, systematic demolition work is continuing on the remaining illegal buildings in the second phase of the Shwe Kokko area that were used for online scam and online gambling activities. Of the buildings being demolished using heavy machinery, one six-storey building had been 50 per cent demolished as of today, while the demolition of another six-storey building had reached 20 per cent completion.

Of the 63 buildings scheduled for demolition in the second phase of the Shwe Kokko area, four designated for demolition using explosives and another four designated for demolition using heavy machinery have already been demolished. The remaining 55 buildings will also be systematically demolished.

The Government is carrying out effective measures to combat online scams and online gambling as a national responsibility. — 100/KZL
