NAING Win Tun won the 67-kilogramme championship belt at the 11th Myanmar Traditional Lethwei World Championship held at Theinbyu Lethwei Gymnasium in Yangon on 9 August. In the 67-kilogramme bout, Naing Win Tun of Nine Lethwei defeated Kayin victorious flag champion Kabar Shar of Zarhtet Meiktila by medical stoppage in the fourth round after his opponent suffered a head injury from a punch.
Other four-round bouts saw Daung Maik Thway of Nine Lethwei and Saw Ruby of YMA finish in a draw at 53 kilogrammes, while Kayin victorious flag champion Aung Ko Latt of Ray and Saw Htein Lin of 555 Sports also drew at 65 kilogrammes.
In the five-round bouts, Salai Thang Kwi Shein of Kyar Ma Naing and SEA Games bronze medallist Hein Tun Aung of Khae Yue Wah drew at 56 kilogrammes.
MLWC champion Eh Mwi of Eh Kanyaw and Sky Net victorious flag winner Thant Zin of Python Tawwin Ayeya drew at 60 kilogrammes, while Tun Min Aung of Top One and MLWC gold medallist Raman of Yoya Swan Ah drew at 75 kilogrammes.
The tournament was organized by the Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Federation and Myanmar Martial Arts Group, with Myanmar Economic Corporation as the main sponsor.
