Honorary Chair of the Nippon Foundation Mr Yohei Sasakawa paid a courtesy call on President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing at the Presidential Palace Reception Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on the Honorary Chair of the Nippon Foundation’s plans to assist Myanmar’s internal peace process to the best of his ability, as well as on assistance from the Nippon Foundation for assisting in rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected areas of Laymyethna Township in Ayeyawady Region.
The current situation in Myanmar, where the government elected by the people is firmly pursuing the country’s democratic path and making efforts to achieve internal peace, was also discussed.
They also emphasized the Nippon Foundation’s plans to assist technological universities in Myanmar in offering courses on constructing earthquake-resistant buildings.
