Heavy rain caused the Shwegyin creek to overflow on the afternoon of 11 July, flooding homes in Nyaungwine Ward at about 1 pm.
The Shwegyin Township Fire Brigade, together with relevant organizations, assisted in evacuating affected households. Meanwhile, as the Bilin River continued to rise at about 9:30 am the same day, firefighters from the Bilin Township Fire Station, in cooperation with relevant organizations, evacuated residents from low-lying areas to a flood-safe sports hall.
