ONLY those who live in areas without peace and stability can truly understand the value of peace and stability. The lives of people in such unstable regions are extremely pitiful. People in these areas are deprived of their human rights and suffer from hardships in meeting their basic needs, including food and shelter.
The Union Government is working to establish peace and stability in various regions. However, stability cannot be achieved in areas where political conflicts and armed conflicts are ongoing. As a result, people in conflict-affected areas are unable to benefit from the fruits of development. Their lives, blood, and sweat are lost meaninglessly. These regions also lag in many sectors such as education, health, economy, and social development.
Therefore, those who wish to see development in their regions must work towards peace and stability by ending armed conflicts and implementing positive and constructive processes.
The currently elected democratic government has announced that it will make every possible effort to achieve peace in the country within five years. The government has also issued invitations for peace. Regarding the peace proposal put forward by the government, all ethnic armed organizations have been invited to come and engage in peace talks without any preconditions. Therefore, the time has come to negotiate and reach agreements for lasting peace for the benefit of all regions of the ethnic people. Political disagreements in the past may well have been considered correct at that time, as people tended to emphasize their own perspectives and regarded them as the truth.
However, the negative legacies of the past have left behind regions that are now deprived of peace and stability. Therefore, past events remain in history, and it is the responsibility of the present generation to build peace and stability for the future. By implementing regional development activities, local ethnic people will achieve socioeconomic development, gain mutual understanding and trust, and experience greater peace, stability, and rule of law.
By building trust, all ethnic citizens together must construct a peaceful and prosperous Union. Only when hatred, resentment, desire for revenge, and oppressive practices are eliminated, and when ethnic groups build a fraternal relationship, will national stability and peace be achieved.
Everyone can see that neighbouring countries without political and armed conflicts are developing. Myanmar citizens, if they truly work together, can undoubtedly build a stable and peaceful nation. For themselves, for the people, and for the country, everyone should collectively build a peaceful, stable, and developed nation with unity of mind and purpose.
