THE Rakhine State government is making arrangements to create job opportunities for temporarily displaced persons and residents, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Naing Oo said during a meeting in Sittway. He said plans are in place to increase rice supplies for displaced people, and efforts are being made to ensure residents can work and live peacefully.
He also urged cooperation to overcome current difficulties and stressed the importance of education for children in displacement camps, with measures implemented under government guidance. Officials later distributed rice to displaced people, while residents raised their needs and concerns, which were addressed by the chief minister.
The chief minister also attended an agricultural demonstration event, including green manure cultivation and natural fertilizer use, and distributed seeds to farmers. He later inspected planned bridge construction sites in Sittway Township for the 2026-2027 financial year and gave the necessary instructions.
