UNION Minister for Religious Affairs U Tin Oo Lwin paid homage to senior monks from 14 countries attending the 70th Anniversary of the Sixth Buddhist Synod, and presented them with offerings.
He visited the monks at the Novotel Hotel in Yangon, where he presented commemorative gifts, robes, and religious texts. The Union minister also paid homage to Sitagu Sayadaw Dr Ashin Nyanissara and expressed his gratitude for the participation of the international monastic representatives.
Senior monks from various countries, including Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Sri Lanka, India, the United States, and Australia, conveyed their appreciation during the meeting. The donations consisted of robes, translated Pitaka texts, Dhamma books, and commemorative gifts marking the 70th anniversary of the Sixth Buddhist Synod.
