ACCORDING to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Myanmar Embassy in Washington participated in the ASEAN Culture Day ceremony held on 16 October at the Visitors’ Centre of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (CJCLS), Washington DC Temple.
The wives of ambassadors and heads of embassies from ASEAN countries in Washington, DC, led the ceremony. It was organized by the ASEAN Women’s Association (ASEAN Spouses’ Circle).
U Thet Win, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at the Myanmar Embassy in Washington, DC, attended the ceremony alongside embassy personnel and their family members. They performed the traditional Myanmar Thingyan dance and served traditional foods. Additionally, tourism promotion videos showcasing Myanmar’s scenery were presented to attendees, along with displays of posters, photos, paintings, and traditional crafts.
ASEAN embassies also showcased traditional songs, dances, and a fashion show representing each country, in addition to various traditional foods.
