MYANMAR’S equestrian athlete, Kyaw Wunna Aung, won the fourth place in an International Equestrian competition held in India on 12 and 13 October, featuring participants from 11 nations.

The event, organized by the Indian Equestrian Federation at the invitation of the Asian Equestrian Federation’s Regional Group 3, was explicitly for athletes under 21 years age. Kyaw Wunna Aung competed in the show jumping contest representing the Myanmar Equestrian Federation.

As the first competitor in the event, Kyaw Wunna Aung focused on clearing the hurdles in line with the usual competition format, where the first round emphasizes a clean show jumping. He narrowly missed third place, trailing by just a fraction of a second behind a competitor from Hong Kong, according to sources from the Myanmar Equestrian Federation.

The competition saw participation from 12 athletes across 11 countries. Kyaw Wunna Aung successfully cleared all hurdles with a timing of 89.66 seconds, securing the fourth place in the rankings.

Notably, Kyaw Wunna Aung had to compete with a horse provided by the host Indian, as opposed to his usual mount, which added to the challenge. Despite this, he performed admirably in both rounds of the competition.
