ACCORDING to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, several memoranda of understanding were signed at the ASEAN Trade Fair 2025 held in Seoul to enable the export of certain Myanmar food products to the Republic of Korea.
The ASEAN Trade Fair 2025 took place from 13 to 16 November at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX) in Seoul. During the exhibition, the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim/Ambassador U Myo Myint Maung, the commercial attaché and officials from the Embassy provided support to Myanmar business representatives, facilitated their engagement with Korean entrepreneurs, and coordinated various requirements. As a result, several memoranda of understanding were signed at the trade fair to allow the export of some Myanmar food products.
The ASEAN Trade Fair is an annual exhibition organized by the ASEAN-Korea Centre in South Korea. Its objectives are to promote networking between ASEAN and South Korean business communities, encourage ASEAN SMEs engaged in food production, raise the profile of ASEAN food products in the South Korean market, and enhance economic cooperation between ASEAN member states and the Republic of Korea.
At the ASEAN Trade Fair 2025, ten Myanmar companies engaged in the production, distribution and sale of food products participated.
The opening ceremony of the ASEAN Trade Fair 2025 was attended by the Secretary-General of the ASEAN-KOREA Centre and ambassadors from ASEAN member states, including Chargé d’Affaires ad interim/Ambassador U Myo Myint Maung.
