ACCORDING to the observations at 5:30 pm MST today, monsoon will be strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal, due to the low-pressure area over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal(off North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts, India), rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, and Lower Sagaing regions and Kayah State and fairly widespread to widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyawady, Taninthayi regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, and Shan states with isolated heavy falls from this tonight 17 August 2025. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and the along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 miles per hour. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet off and along the Myanmar Coasts.
