Myanmar Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, U Thant Sin, said he wishes the employment permit system (EPS) to ensure equal employment opportunity for workers who passed the EPS-Topik, during the 2025 EPS Conference held on 6 August in Seoul.
Further, he highlighted more recruitment of new or old workers who passed the EPS-Topik in Myanmar, supporting prospective workers to enable them to introduce employers during the 2-year waiting time after job application submission, and educating and regulating workplace safety.

Seventeen countries send workers to the Republic of Korea by EPS, and he wishes to continue implementing EPS with better plans in collaboration with worker sending countries, said Korean Minister for Employment and Labour, Mr Kim Young Hoo.

As of June 2011 to June 2025, more than 70,000 Myanmar workers have been sent to the Republic of Korea, primarily in manufacturing, construction, agriculture and livestock, forestry and service industries, according to the Public Overseas Employment Agency.
Ambassadors from 17 EPS member countries attended the 2025 EPS Conference.
