The Nagmon Township Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, held an event in Nampandan Village on 24 September to introduce the Village Development Project (VDP) and form a committee, aiming to implement the project during the 2026-2027 financial year.
Township Head U Kyaw Kyaw Lwin of the Nagmon Township Department of Rural Development provided an introductory explanation regarding the VDP, covering its objectives, benefits, and implementation processes.
Subsequently, project staff explained the criteria for selecting committee members as well as the specific duties and rights associated with the roles. Following this, Township Head U Kyaw Kyaw Lwin, officials, and local villagers elected and formed a seven-member development committee based on public consensus. U Kyaw Kyaw Lwin stated that village development projects will be implemented in the village during the 2026-2027 financial year. These projects will be carried out by the villagers themselves, contributing both labour and funds, utilizing K15 million in Village Development Project (VDP) funding, with technical support and close supervision provided by staff from the Township Department of Rural Development. — Aung Ye Kyaw (DRD)
