The German and Finnish Red Cross societies donated emergency relief items for earthquake response operations to the Myanmar Red Cross Society in a handover ceremony held on 26 June at Yangon International Airport, according to the headquarters of the Myanmar Red Cross Society.
Ms Pone Nyet Khaing of the German Red Cross and Ms Hannaleena Pölkki of the Finnish Red Cross handed over the relief items, which were received by Assistant General Secretary Daw Ei Ei Htway and officials from the Myanmar Red Cross Society. They expressed their appreciation and presented certificates of honour in return.
The donated items from the German Red Cross included family tents, shelter tool kits (Type 1 and 2), jerrycans, mini rub halls, warehouse tents, and hygiene parcels. The Finnish Red Cross contributed tents.
Donated supplies will be distributed to communities impacted by earthquakes across Myanmar.
