THE Working Committee on EV Research, Development, and Technology held its second hybrid-format meeting yesterday at Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University in Nay Pyi Taw, attended by Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Dr Aung Zeya, the committee chairman.
The Deputy minister emphasized the government’s efforts in collaboration with relevant departments to develop the EV sector in line with directives, highlighting the need to fulfill responsibilities for the country’s long-term interests, create a sustainable future, stay competitive with rapidly advancing EV technology, and conduct effective research on household and agricultural EVs, solar EV charging systems, EV-based AI, EV metrology, and EV batteries, while ensuring the dissemination of EV technologies and knowledge to stakeholders, including the public.
Officials from various ministries attending the meeting reported on overseas EV training participation, the opening of training programs, EV battery research activities, awareness events, committee work progress, and plans for future tasks. The deputy minister emphasized the importance of securing intellectual property rights from research results, collaborating with relevant departments for their effective use, conducting EV training in line with technical standards, holding necessary discussions, and ensuring interdepartmental coordination.
