To support the needs of earthquake-affected civil servants and to assist with rehabilitation efforts, the Yangon Canaan Chinese Baptist Church donated K5 million and 50 two-Pyi bags of rice. In addition, the Myanmar Council of Churches’ Central Committee for Peace contributed K1 million.
The donations were handed over yesterday afternoon at the office of the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.
Deputy Minister U Soe Kyi of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement accepted the donations, expressed words of thanks, and presented certificates of appreciation in return.
