MYANMAR deported one Laotian for involvement in telecom fraud and destructive actions via the Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge II yesterday.
Myanmar authorities officially handed the deportee the necessary legal documents to ensure a smooth repatriation.
Between 30 January and 26 April 2025, a total of 9,040 illegal immigrants were identified and detained in Myanmar. Of this number, 7,312 individuals have already been deported through Thailand to their respective countries, while arrangements are being made to deport the remaining 1,727 individuals. These individuals are currently under detention while awaiting repatriation.
The government is strictly cracking down on online scams and online gambling by cooperating with international countries, including neighbouring countries, especially through the Myanmar-China-Thailand Trilateral Cooperation, and systematically transferring the foreigners involved in these operations. — MNA/KTZH
