ONLINE tourist visa applications for foreigners visiting Myanmar, suspended on 3 April due to the Mandalay earthquake, were reinstated 19 days later on 22 April.
According to the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, over 260,000 foreign tourists visited Myanmar in the first two months of this year, with the majority coming from China and Thailand.
The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism reported that more than 1.06 million foreign tourists visited Myanmar in 2024 and stated its commitment to developing the tourism industry through destination development, participation in international exhibitions, and digital marketing. — ASH/TH
