People experience joy, sadness, surprise, depression, and many other emotions in their lives. Therefore, they enjoy different types of music depending on their moods and circumstances. Music can reduce stress and motivate people to stay active. There are many kinds of music, such as classical music, pop music, rock and roll, hip-hop, and R&B. In our country, most older people enjoy listening to classical music, while younger people tend to prefer pop music. As for me, both classical music and pop music give me great pleasure. I often listen to Burmese classical music at night before I go to sleep. Although some young people may find it a little boring, classical music gives us peaceful moments and touches our hearts. Classical music is unique because songwriters take the time to create meaningful and beautiful songs.

Classical music provides a diverse range of artistic experiences related to people’s lifestyles, the beauty of nature, cultural heritage, traditions, and the history of Myanmar. However, it can be difficult to sing classical songs proficiently. In spite of its complexity, classical music remains deeply meaningful at its core. On the other hand, pop music gives us a feeling of freshness as soon as we hear it, and it is especially popular among young people nowadays. Although pop songs may not stay popular for a long time, they are generally easier for most singers to perform than classical songs.

Despite the differences between classical and pop music, both types can help us relax our minds. I would like to share one of my personal experiences with classical music. My father loves classical music because he used to sing to me whenever I fell asleep in his arms when I was young. He always understood the value of old classical songs and often emphasized their importance. I remember those happy times whenever I hear the Burmese classical music that my father used to sing. Through these memories, I have come to appreciate the essence of classical music. They are precious memories that I will never forget.

In conclusion, classical music is not just entertainment; it is a vital part of our identity. Therefore, we should protect and preserve classical music as part of Myanmar’s national heritage.
