Adelegation led by Mr Vladislav V Sviblov, Head of the Russia-based Areal Group of Companies, paid a courtesy call on U Min Aung Hlaing, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, at the Presidential Palace Reception Hall yesterday morning.
Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Maung Swe and U Aung Kyaw Hoe, along with other officials, attended the meeting. Mr Iskander K Azizov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar, accompanied the Russian delegation.
During the meeting, both sides cordially discussed the growing mutual trust and friendly relations between Myanmar and the Russian Federation, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation in various sectors, including education, science and technology. They also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in mineral exploration and mining, which could contribute towards economic development of both countries and the socioeconomic well-being of their peoples. They additionally discussed the importance of balancing mining operations with environmental conservation.
Following the meeting, the President and the Head of the Russia-based Areal Group of Companies exchanged commemorative gifts, according to reports.
