The government is treating the fight against online scams and illegal online gambling as a national responsibility. To prevent these activities from resuming in Shwe Kokko, where such operations were widespread, authorities are systematically demolishing buildings used for illegal activities.
Demolition work continued in Phase II of the Shwe Kokko area, with heavy machinery being used to demolish a five-storey building. As of today, 94 per cent of the building had been demolished, while work on another five-storey building was 40 per cent complete. Preparations were also underway to demolish a 13-storey building using explosives.
Of the 63 buildings designated for demolition in Phase II, 25 are to be demolished using heavy machinery, four by controlled explosions and 34 manually, floor by floor, because they are close to residential buildings. The work is being carried out according to these designated methods.
Three of the four buildings scheduled for demolition by controlled explosions have already been demolished. Work on the remaining buildings is also proceeding systematically.
The government is placing particular emphasis on eradicating online scams and related gambling activities, which threaten global socio-economic stability and national security. In cooperation with neighbouring and regional countries, it is working to eliminate online scam operations completely and permanently. — 100/ KZL
