THE Myanmar Football Federation (MFF), in cooperation with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), will conduct Module 3 of the AFC/MFF Pro Diploma Coaching Course in Thailand from 10 to 16 October 2026. This marks the first time Myanmar has organized the country’s highest-level coaching course, according to the MFF.
The course aims to raise the standard of football coaching in Myanmar.
AFC tutors Yasuhiko Kimura and Aris Caslib, together with MFF Technical Director Michiteru Mita, will lead the training. A group of 16 coaches, comprising 12 Myanmar nationals and four foreign participants, departed from Yangon International Airport for Thailand on 9 October.
The AFC Pro Diploma is one of the highest-level coaching qualifications recognised by the AFC. Under international coaching standards, the qualification is required for coaches seeking to lead teams in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, the AFC Asian Cup and top-level club competitions.
During the course, participants will study modern football tactics and theory at Novotel Bangkok Future Park Rangsit in Bangkok and Amari Buriram in Buriram.
They will also observe Thai League 1 matches between BG Pathum and Ayutthaya, and between Port FC and Pattani FC. In addition, they will visit BG Pathum’s training ground and hold discussions with the club’s head coach and general manager.
To gain insights into tactical strategies in major Asian club competitions, participants will attend the AFC Champions League Elite match between Buriram United and Beijing FC in Buriram, as well as the AFC Champions League Two match between BG Pathum and Adelaide United FC in Bangkok. They will also attend the post-match press conferences as part of their learning programme.
