Myanmar participated in the Costumes of the World Show held at the Festsaal Rathaus in Vienna, Austria, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The International Cultural Diversity Organization (ICDO), based in Vienna, hosted the event. Staff of the Myanmar Embassy in Vienna and their family members joined by donning traditional costumes representing eight ethnic nationalities — Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Bamar, Mon, Rakhine, and Shan — and performing the song “Forever Faithful”.
Vienna City Council member and State Parliament representative Mr Omar Al Rawi, University of Vienna cultural studies professor Dr Hermann Muckler, and ICDO President Ms Josipa Palac delivered the opening remarks. The show featured traditional costumes and cultural dance performances from 31 countries, including Myanmar. — ASH/MKKS
