K-STARS Empire Company Limited has submitted an investment proposal of about US$13 million to construct a biofuel power plant in Myawady Township, Kayin State.
The power plant is expected to generate 10 megawatts from agricultural waste. Concerning this project, Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo met the company officials on 9 September.
During the meeting, Thailand technical experts gave a detailed presentation on the project’s timeline, structures and machinery configuration, trial operation, power trading management and positive impacts on the local community and environment.
The chief minister discussed the power plant construction and the power supply and distribution plan.
