A high-level Myanmar delegation led by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing and Spouse Daw Kyu Kyu Hla left Nay Pyi Taw Airport by special aircraft yesterday morning to pay an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam at the invitation of President of SRV Mr To Lam and his spouse.
The President and the delegation were seen off at the airport by Vice-President Nan Ni Ni Aye, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi and his wife, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe and his wife, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo and his wife, Union ministers and their wives, the commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials from the Embassy of Viet Nam to Myanmar.
The President was accompanied by Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Maung Swe, U Min Naung, Dr Charlie Than and U Tun Ohn, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, deputy ministers and officials.
The special aircraft carrying the President-led high-level Myanmar delegation arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at about 12.30 pm local standard time. They were warmly welcomed by senior officials led by Mr Lê Khánh Hi, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and Minister at the Office of the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and officials, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar, Myanmar Ambassador to Viet Nam U Wai Lin and his wife, Myanmar Military Attachés (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Zaw Min and officials. During the welcome ceremony, members of the Guard of Honour of Viet Nam took their positions and saluted on both sides of the red carpet in accordance with traditional protocol for welcoming and honouring Heads of State. They also presented bouquets as gifts to welcome President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing and Spouse Daw Kyu Kyu Hla upon their arrival. — MNA/TTA
