COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo met staff and families of the Myanmar Military Attaché Office in Thailand and scholarship trainees at the hotel reception hall in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, the General said that trainees must study diligently to the point of being able to effectively apply their knowledge for the benefit of the country and the Tatmadaw.
They must also pursue their studies to acquire higher knowledge and technical expertise through their respective disciplines. He pointed out that service personnel performing their duties must serve as exemplary personnel in safeguarding and promoting the nation’s political, economic, and national interests according to their respective assigned sectors.
The General presented foodstuffs and gifts for families of the Military Attaché Office and trainees through officials. The meeting was also attended by Daw Nilar, the wife of the General, the Military Attaché and officials.
The General and party left Wing 6 of the Royal Thai Air Force in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday afternoon, and were seen off at the airport by Chief of the Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces General Ukris Boontanondha and his wife, senior officers, Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand U Zaw Zaw Soe, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) BrigGen Win Thu Lin and officials. On arrival at the Nay Pyi Taw Airport, the General and party were welcomed back by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) General Kyaw Swa Lin, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Win, senior Tatmadaw officers and officials from the Thai Military Attaché Office in Myanmar.
The General and party attended the Thailand-Myanmar High-Level Officers’ Meeting, met with top officials from the Royal Thai Armed Forces to discuss the relations and cooperation between the two armed forces, and visited landmark sites across Thailand.
