MYANMAR youth national badminton team has won three team-event gold medals at the Badminton Asia South-East Asia Regional Championships 2026, which are being held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from 18 to 21 August.
The Myanmar youth team secured gold medals in the U16, U19 and U23 team events. The U16 gold medal was won by Min Myat Moe, Kaung Myat Chan Tha, Thoon Nadi Phyoe and Nang Sam Chan Thaw.
The U19 team, comprising Nyan Shaine Lin, Hein Thiha Aung, Lin Lin Htet and Nang Seng Hlaing Main, also claimed gold, while Phyoe Thurain Kyaw, Lal Zuidika, Eaint Chit Phoo and Su Latt secured gold in the U23 team event.
Officials and coaches from the Myanmar Badminton Federation, including Chairman U Aung Paing and the Secretary-General, are also attending the tournament alongside the athletes.
The Myanmar youth athletes will continue competing from 19 to 21 August in an effort to secure the overall championship trophies. — Bala/KZL
