GOVERNMENT office buildings partially damaged by armed violence in Chin State are being repaired with funds from the National Disaster Management Fund under the supervision of the Chin State Recovery and Reconstruction Committee.
Deputy Minister for Border Affairs MajGen Kyaw Swa Oo inspected repair works at Basic Education Primary School No 2, the Falam District Development Supervision Office, staff housing and electricity facilities in Falam yesterday.
Officials also inspected repairs to staff housing and public buildings in Tiddim, including the Border Areas and National Races Youth Development Training School and a monastic education school. In Tonzang, officials inspected repairs to the Township Rural Development Office, a cyclone shelter and the hospital.
Residents have been returning to Falam and surrounding villages since 6 May 2026, following the Tatmadaw’s full control of the town. Education, healthcare and socioeconomic activities have resumed as reconstruction and rehabilitation continue. — MNA/KZL
