DEPARTMENTAL staff in Falam, Chin State, jointly cleared debris and cleaned Central School Road in Valai Ward yesterday, where buildings and infrastructure had been damaged during violent incidents.
Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Maj-Gen Kyaw Swa Oo, accompanied by the Chin State Security and Border Affairs Minister and members of state and Falam rehabilitation and reconstruction committees, inspected the cleanup activities. They also inspected debris and vegetation clearance at No 3 Basic Education High School and assessed the need for major repairs.
The deputy minister later inspected partially damaged buildings and equipment and the runway at Surbung Airport.
Meanwhile, rehabilitation and reconstruction officials inspected cleanup and vegetation clearance activities and retaining wall construction in Tiddim. In Tonzang, officials also inspected community-led cleanup activities carried out by departmental staff, police personnel, community elders and local communities. — MNA/KZL
