UNION Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Nguyen Anh Duc and his delegation at the Union Minister’s reception room in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
They cordially discussed cooperation in immigration matters between the two countries as ASEAN member states. They also discussed the mutual granting of entry visas and residence permits, the repatriation of Vietnamese nationals who illegally entered Myanmar and were arrested, in accordance with the terms of bilateral friendship, and Vietnamese nationals prosecuted and sentenced in online fraud cases. They also stressed the need for Vietnamese nationals to enter Myanmar legally and be informed about the consequences of illegal entry.
Deputy Minister U Lin Zaw Tun, the permanent secretary and officials also attended the meeting.
