A ceremony to conduct an introductory briefing on the Village Development Project (VDP) and form a project committee took place in Kantan (Nyaungbintha) Village, Kalaw Township, yesterday.
Kalaw Township Department of Rural Development Head U Ko Ko Naing met village elders and villagers in the village, and explained the objectives, processes and expected benefits of the Village Development Project (VDP). Project staff also explained the rules and regulations to be followed in selecting and forming the Village Development Committee, as well as the tasks to be carried out by the village. The villagers formed a seven-member Village Development Committee to execute village development activities effectively.
In the village, villagers will undertake development activities for the 2026-2027 financial year using support funds from the Village Development Project (VDP) and contributions from residents, with technical assistance and close supervision from officials of the Department of Rural Development.
