The Ministry of Education has announced that students at basic education schools are prohibited from using mobile phones during school hours.
According to the ministry, the restriction is intended to prevent excessive mobile phone use among students and protect young people from the harmful effects of using social media platforms that are inappropriate for their age.
The ministry also said that it has issued guidelines for basic education schools to ensure that students use mobile phones and online platforms safely and effectively as educational tools.
In addition, the Ministry of Education will work with relevant ministries and organizations to conduct awareness programmes for parents, teachers and students, as well as digital safety education initiatives.
