The government and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy are making efforts to restore electricity in areas where power infrastructure was damaged by attacks carried out by PDF terrorist groups.
Repair works on substations, transformers, and transmission lines have enabled electricity to be reconnected in Lashio, Nawnghkio, Hsipaw and Kyaukme in Shan State (North) and Loikaw, Loilemlay, Lawpita, and Demawhso in Kayah State, and Falam and Tonzang in Chin State.
Temporary power is being supplied through diesel generators, hydropower plants, and solar systems in some areas until full restoration is completed. The restoration efforts are helping daily life, public services, healthcare, education, and local businesses.
