THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Shan State (East), Mongton District, conducted a ceremony to disburse revolving funds under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project in Napakaw Village, Mongton Township, yesterday.
Mongton Township Department of Rural Development Head U Min Oo and project staff explained that the revolving funds were provided under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project with the objectives of creating employment opportunities and increasing family incomes for rural people in Napakaw Village, as well as implementing village development activities with the increased revolving funds. Officials then explained project activities, interest rates, repayment periods and rules and regulations to be followed, and handed over K56.5 million in revolving funds to members of the village project committee.
Napakaw Village is implementing family income-generating activities through a group-based system using K56.5 million from the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project. Under the supervision of the Township Department of Rural Development, members of the project committee disbursed the 13th round of revolving loans to a total of 32 members, including 30 people engaged in agricultural activities, one person in trading and one person in production activities.
