Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe, who is accompanying President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing on a State goodwill visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, met Lao Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Mr Phoxay Sayasone at the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare yesterday.
They discussed the issuance of Certificates of Identity for undocumented Myanmar workers in Laos, ongoing cooperation between the two ministries to ensure that workers receive the rights and protections to which they are entitled, the protection of workers in line with the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the two ministries, and the convening of high-level meetings. — MNA/MKKS
