The Hluttaw Friendship Associations were established at the seventh day of the second regular session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw to further enhance parliamentary cooperation and multi-sectoral relations between Myanmar and Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
At the meeting held on the morning of 18 June, the following five-member parliamentary friendship associations were established for each country.
The Myanmar-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Association was chaired by U Chit Swe, the representative of Ayeyawady Region Amyotha Hluttaw Constituency 10, while Major Zawana (Defence Services Personnel Representative) was appointed as Secretary.
The Myanmar-Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Association was chaired by Brig-Gen Than Tun Aung (Defence Services Personnel Representative), while Captain Daw Su Myat Wai (Defence Services Personnel Representative) was appointed as Secretary.
The Myanmar-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Association was established with U Rakuri Pung, the representative of Kachin State Amyotha Hluttaw Constituency 1, serving as Chairperson and Major Tint Lwin Aye (Defence Services Personnel Representative) serving as Secretary.
The establishment of these parliamentary friendship associations aims to strengthen parliamentary relations with the respective countries, facilitate the exchange of experiences, and enhance multi-sectoral cooperation.
In addition, at the same meeting, several affairs committees, including those for farmers’ affairs, youth affairs, women, children, the elderly rights, and education promotion, were also established to effectively address domestic affairs.
