UNION Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Hsan Oo inspected plantations and village firewood plantations established by companies in 2025 within the Lower Sinthay Forest Reserve in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory yesterday morning.
In the afternoon, he attended the online signing ceremony for the Agreement on the Establishment of the International Mangrove Centre (IMC), held at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.
The Union minister highlighted the importance of international cooperation in the effective management of mangrove ecosystems. He noted that Myanmar possesses the seventh-largest mangrove area in the world and the third-largest in SouthEast Asia. He then signed the Agreement on the Establishment of the International Mangrove Centre (IMC).
