THE Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development inspected the completion of three slab culverts on the Namhpat Village production road in Mongshu Township yesterday.
U Zeya Min, head of the Mongshu District Department of Rural Development, Head of the Mongshu Township Department Daw Myint Thida Han and engineering staff observed the completed construction of three slab culverts, each measuring five feet in length, 22 feet in width and five feet in height.
He also met members of the village production road committee to check the durability of the structures, urged villagers to maintain the culverts for long-term sustainability, and coordinated necessary support in response to issues raised by residents.
The slab culvert construction project was implemented for the 2026-2027 financial year with a K27 million allocation from the State budget. Jointly carried out by township DRD staff and local villagers since the first week of May, the project is now fully completed, enabling 360 people from 58 households and 250 farmers cultivating 339 acres of farmland to transport agricultural produce to markets.
