As the Head of State has continuously instructed that efforts should be made to ensure regional stability and socioeconomic development in all sectors, Tatmadaw has been implementing these directives by transporting construction materials required for regional development projects, textbooks and stationery to promote the education sector, and medicines and medical equipment for healthcare services to difficult-to-access areas in some regions and states by military aircraft and vehicles.
In carrying out such transportation, vehicles carrying office supplies required for departmental offices in Shwegu Township, Kachin State, medicines and medical equipment needed for healthcare services for locals departed from Mandalay on 4 June and travelled through Madaya, Thabeikkyin, Tagaung, Kattu and Nga Oh before arriving in Shwegu yesterday afternoon. The relevant departmental officials welcomed the convoy upon arrival.
Supplies will be distributed to local ethnic communities through the relevant authorities and are expected to support livelihoods, healthcare and education in the region. The assistance will be continued based on local needs.
Tatmadaw, in cooperation with departmental officials and residents, has been actively assisting regional development activities. It has also repaired and reconstructed roads and bridges destroyed by terrorists and reopened transportation routes. As a result, passenger vehicles and cargo trucks are now travelling normally, while locals are able to carry out their daily travel and trade activities smoothly. Moreover, the government will continue to provide further assistance based on regional needs. — MNA/KTZH
